The term was first used by Twitch streamers YourRage and Kai Cenat, who would say “gyatt” when an attractive female would appear on their streams, according to Indy100. Said to be an cryptic abbreviation for “goddamn,” the term is usually employed upon observiing an attractive woman, typically online.
